EARTH FURROWS, Laguna de Aculeo, Chile / 2020

The work emerged during the 2020 Covid quarantine in Laguna de Aculeo, south of Santiago. The area was devastated by drought and desertification, and at that time the lagoon was completely dry. What was a natural ecosystem, full of water and nature, was transformed into a desert: uninhabited houses, empty docks and abandoned water vehicles and a large muddy crater with remains of dead animals, excrement and stones.

Earth Furrows traces in thread, the dry furrows of water and the footprints of the animals that dig for food in this great barren desert.
